Today is the day!

Our Lakewood, Colorado house is hitting the market tonight! Eeek!

Getting to this point FEELS. SO. GOOD.

We've been working hard to get everything pretty, clean, and show ready for the last couple of months. Here's a small sampling of some of the projects we've finished up:

  1. Installing new carpet on the stairway, landing and boys rooms. Bye bye purple carpet!
  2. Painting the bannister and hand railing
  3. Lots and lots of paint touch ups
  4. Hiring a landscaper to tidy up the front and back
  5. Continuing to declutter and purge. We donated a TON of stuff
  6. And a million other little things...

So, here's the plan...

The house hits the market the evening of March 29. Showings will start on Friday, March 30. For the first weekend, we'll be accepting offers until Monday at noon. Then, we'll meet with our realtor, Tom Evon (super experienced relator in Green Mountain) on Monday afternoon and see what has come through.

If we have a good offer, then awesome. If not, we'll just move into a regular showing pattern and see what comes though. If it has been on the market for a week, we'll evaluate whether we need to adjust the price. The Denver real estate market is pretty hot, so we're thinking it will go quickly.

Kelsey will be teaching until June 1, so we're thankful that we have a place to land in Frisco and are flexible to a closing date that works for our buyer. He's open to commuting from the mountains for 2 weeks, but a month feels a bit long (if we need to be out of the house in early May). So, we've reserved a cabin at Bear Creek Lake Park for a few eight days in early May. The cabins have heat and electricity and are just down the way from the bathrooms (and showers!). Some simple living with our family sounds perfect and we're really hoping that we get the opportunity to stay there!

This is a huge step in getting to Summit County and we can't wait to see what happens!

Thanks for all the love and support so far!
